DEBATE: Does Romans 9 Teach Corporate Election?

August 29, 2025 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$5.00

Romans 9 is often used by Calvinists and Arminians to argue for their flavors of individual election. Gaining traction in the academic community is an alternative interpretation of the passage, which proposes that Paul has in mind “corporate election,” or the election of a group. Dr. Kurt Jaros (PhD, University of Aberdeen) will be debating Mr. Sean Luke (MA, MDiv, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) on the question, “Does Romans 9 Teach Corporate Election?” Dr. Jaros takes the affirmative and Mr. Luke takes the negative. Dr. J can be found creating Christian theological resources at Veracity Hill. Mr. Luke can be found on YouTube at Anglican Aesthetics.

This live, formal debate will be moderated by Dr. John Clark of Moody Bible Institute. It will be hosted at Defenders Media, in West Chicago, IL with a parking lot available across Washington St. For those unable to attend in person, there will be a livestream at Veracity Hill’s YouTube channel.
